Antique Coffee Table Transformed Into a Bench!

FOR SALE

I found this medium-sized coffee table and figured it was just a bit too small and awkward to be a coffee table, or even a side table, so I made it into a bench! It's easier than you think.

First

buy the bench

Second

Paint the bench

Third

Upholster the Bench

Use high density foam, you can find it at fabric stores, or in my case estate sales or yard sales. Buy your fabric. Cut foam to be a little bigger than what you intend the final padding to be, probably an extra inch all around. Place padding on bench and achor fabric by pulling tight and stapling once on all four sides. tuck fabric under and squeeze down on foam.

Trim excess with a utility knife. Super sharp!

Lastly

Add piping around the raw edge and tack into place so the nails or staples DON'T SHOW! Tuck ends of piping under padding to conceal and clean up.

And there you have it!
