Teal Cabinet

 

I see these things at garage sales all the time.  Little bathroom storage cupboards, inevitably they are white and cheap looking.  I finally picked one up at a barn sale and made it pretty.  First i spray painted all the edges with a black spray paint.  Then once it was dried i rubbed candle wax on all the places i wanted the black to show through.  Then i painted the entire cabinet with a gorgeous teal color.  Then went back and sanded all the edges i waxed previously.  My husband cut out the center of the door and i stapled black chicken wire to the inside of the door.  and...Ta-Da, an upcycle of a cheap cabinet into something beautiful.  I loves me some shabby chic!
